The ups and downs

These past couple of weeks have been interesting.  Emily and I have been spending as much time as we can together, about every other weekend.  It had been going very well....  We went up to San Francisco for a couple of days to meet some of her family up there, but things didn't go so well.  We're going to take a break and give each other some ( Read more... )

Ooh -- I'm thinking heavily about the new iPhone, my two year contract with T-Mobile was up *yesterday*. That seems like an omen. Something I'm really wondering about is how good the GPS is. Can you type in arbitrary GPS co-ordinates and have the iPhone indicate where that is in relation to you? Basically, "can I use it to geocache, or is it really for showing your current location on a google map?"

The built-in maps application will just center on your current location and put a pin there with a blue shaded circle around it to show (I think) how accurate it is ( ... )

I'm a student, and I didn't get any extra stuff for free when I got my iMac or my iPod. I dropped almost $2000 at my Apple Store and all I got was a bohunk to carry my computer to the car 30 feet from the store. :(

So how is your MacBook working out??? They look really awesome.

Btw, I thought you hated Apple/Mac products.....

I don't hate Apple. I wish OS X had better programs on it though. For now I'm stuck using BootCamp and switching back and forth.

Now that most things are webbased, as far as my e-mail and stuff goes, the platform doesn't really matter.

That's the downside of a mac: not many programs. But the macs are fast when it comes to the internet. I had to get a regular laptop not 6 months after getting my mac because my online classes are not mac compatible.

So I use my laptop for business/classes and my mac for fun.

You should give a different browser a try. The Opera browser can view Internet Explorer only sites, it even lies to them and says its IE since some of them check and will not even try if you aren't using IE.

I personally use Firefox on the PC and the Mac, but will occasionally get a site that is IE only and have to switch.

Well you know Dad and I would like to have a laptop, so what will you be doing with your old one? You went to San Fran, and didn't even tell me. That is quite a drive. I wish you would let your Mother know when you are traveling. I am sorry to hear about Emily. :(
71/2 hours to get a phone. It would have to do the dishes before I would wait 71/2 hrs to get a phone. I won't even stop at the phone place if there are more than 2 cars in the parking lot... later
