Ikea class is complete

After work I went over to Home Depot and picked up everything.  A steel right angle square, miter box w/ saw, an extra wood saw, a pair of work gloves, a 4' aluminum level, two boxes of screws, and 17 pieces of 1"x2"x8' wood.  The total was just shy of $100, funny how the tools are 2x as expensive as the materials!  Another funny thing I noticed, ( Read more... )

A 2x6 used to be a true 2x6 too, but over the years the mills have cut the size. So now a 2x6 is actually only 1 3/4 x 5 1/4. You know the way you used to buy a 5lb bag of sugar and now it is only 4lbs. Candy bars are also smaller than they used to be...
