I just really don't know WHAT reaction he was expecting me to have. Like, did he expect me to come back and give him my number? I wouldn't even know how to function around him if I ever saw him again.

I read this a few times and kept thinking you were implying the old man liked to ride a bike.. which was weird. Not that you couldn't offer someone a ride on a bike.. it'd just be really, really awkward.
