Time is fleeting...

Don't know how many people are actually reading this anymore since I only post rarely on here, for that I am sorry (but not that sorry, lol), just know that I do keep checking back here and catch up on my friends page fairly often...

Anyways on to the post and reason why I am once again gracing myself on livejournal.

Time is one of those things that can cause huge debates. The first thing people need to realize about time is that it is completely relative to the human beings living on the third planet of the star Sol in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way galaxy.

Our observation of time is based on the rising and setting of the sun. Every other measure of time is a breakdown of that. If we were closer or further from the sun but still within the Goldilocks Zone, time would be different. It wouldn't be 24 hours around the sun. It may be 22 or 26. Everything else would be based off that. Even the length of an hour would possibly be different ( ... )

I was kinda hoping to get your opinion... I was talking to a friend at work about it today and he was basically saying this as well! Then he thought about it for a minute and also said perhaps the wiser (or just more experienced) you get the quicker things seem. For example, going to work for the first time in a new direction, or new roads, seems to take a long time. However the more you do it the quicker it seems to get...

As for the Sci-fi/Scientific explaination, that is why I was hoping you would reply. :)

Stephanie- Did you see that experiment on the news where they had a 5 year old, 45 year old and 80 year old tell the instructor when each person thought it was 8 minutes. They were all in separate rooms, of course. The 5 year old lasted about 2 minutes, the 45 year old was almost right on time, but the 80 year old continued to sit there. They asked him how much time had passed after 20 minutes. He thought it had only been 5 minutes ( ... )
