 I'm very pleased to live in a country with a representative form of government, but sweet mother o' pearl...I cannot wait for the non-stop, omni-present political ads to end.

TiVo takes care of that for me. At most I see an occasional frame of Dino Rossi or Patty Murray talking. I think the only ads I've seen more than a fraction of a second of are those that were linked from blogs I read that I chose to watch myself. I find the mailers to be less avoidable and more annoying (and even more packed with lies and personal attacks), but even then it's pretty easy to just drop them into the recycling bin unread.

I also voted the first day they sent the ballots out.
