When your browser takes up 2+ gigs of RAM, it's time to close a few tabs. Jus' saying.

(note: I had to open two *more* tabs to LJ and tweet this. It was THAT important.)

... or to get more RAM!!!

Of course, my laptop only has 2gigs, so I'm self limiting in my browsing habits. And I split between two browsers.

But have often thought... if only I had more RAM, I wouldn't have to make those tough decisions about what to keep open and what to bookmark.

I already have 8g in that box. Heck, i haven't hit the swap file in weeks? Months? (whenever it was i upgraded the kernel to use all 8)

Still...there's a principle at work here I think.

wow... with 8 gigs I could run 3 or 4 different browser apps. Well, no, this is a Mac... really just 3.

But yeah. I'd never have to close a tab. Ever. Except when I was actually done with it.
