Shopping Trip!
Suddenly it feels like life couldn't get better. :D
Today after dance and a great lunch at school (I realised how long I havent drank pork ribs soup), my dad and mom came to pick me up from school. Earlier on I was going on and on about how much I wanted to have cheese prata, Pepper Lunch -and- steak and lamb chop (cos my mom has this beef fetish now - We bought a whole new freezer to store all the meat. It's not a refridgerator, it's a damned freezer ugh. Haha. Now we have 3! MORE SPACE FOR ME.) but in the end I had none of that. I decided that we should go to Taka to let me have my Yong Tau Fu mee sua, thinking that it would be a good idea cos it's cheap and has mushrooms but like, that's another story.
So we got out of the car in the Wisma carpark cos my Dad forgot to turn it at the Taka carpark (I still don't get why people refuse to park at the shopping centre carparks and insist on driving to who knows where to park. I think I heard Ms Teo talking about it before..) and my mom just freaked out at what I was wearing.
So I didn't get any peace for a while, while she was saying how this is the last time she wanted to see me in rags - Honestly.. -.- When have I ever not gone out in rags unless I have proper clothes I need to wear out at least once or it'll weigh on my conscience for even buying it. Sigh. Anyway OKAY so I admit this is really even worse than the usual crap I wear out. But at least be glad that I wore at least nice shaped shorts and not like the random Nike / brandless oversized pants I wear. Those are just not presentable (but I don't care). The main point of the rags today was my Woosh tee - which I love very much btw. I have like 4 I think. One autographed by everyone (god I miss everyone.) and one that's like too big and two that I wear around. My maid threw one out though cos there were holes near the collar cos I bite. This one doesn't have holes but it's very very yellow around the collar. If you can't see clearly haha.
So my mom was like no no we can't walk out of Wisma until you get some clothes.. or was that my Dad. Anyway yeah I was happily walking towards Taka but then she just yanked me back and tried to convince me to eat at Wisma instead. Heh. Anyway I was like OKAY LETS GO ISETAN AND GRAB SOME RAGS. But no we walked past FCUK and there was this suuuuuper nice dress. I like, at least.
And I just freaked out when I saw that it was $179 which is like the same as my black music dress. Ugh. Which reminds me, I have to start thinking of what I should wear for my student recital next year. I can't possibly turn up in FBTs.. right? I sincerely hope it won't be in the LT. I'll just kill myself. Once is enough. The acoustics are lousy enough. Then again, I might embrace the LT with open arms.. compared to the auditorium. I mean seriously, playing to an empty auditorium like it's some audition? Might as well murder me.
So anyway I raised up to my dad that he should go to China and buy me a violin. And he started telling me how there are mass produced Stradivari. Yeah yeah why don't you get me one. :) Anyway he said he would buy me the 1200$ one from Music Essentials for my birthday. Yay. (I'm like not high over it cos I'm scared in the end he won't get it for me. Sigh.) Anyway I have saved up errr 100$ for our overseas trip to Vienna! HAHA YAY 100$! I told my parents already, they seem to be for the idea of going! Yay. I love my parents. They're cool about letting me go for such things I guess. Although I think my mom would rather me not learn violin. (Sigh.. maybe I should stop after this year.)
"Right, so much for that." (Sorry, I couldn't resist the urge to quote Dr Wong. She always says that after she finishes a long point about something (ie during Art of Listening) and everyone just stares at her blankly.) HAHAHA DID YOU KNOW. Leonard Tan is so amusing. He keeps going "So far so good?" And I'm totally reminded of that whatever sailor guy in Wang Zi Bian Qing Wa. Anyway the dance instructor was like "so far so good?" today and I just cracked up and died.
So in the end I didn't get the dress cos er..... Well how should I put it. I took a size 8 because.. I don't know. You can tell right? You need like a proper rack to wear that. But I can't freaking take a size 6 cos you know, I'm so freaking fat. Haha. So er. It was a disaster? It was fitting at the waist or wherever but the top was like. *#@((*#)$&!#$. I mean it'd be the same for everyone really. But that mannequin just wears it well. Cos she's skinny so it's probably a size 6. And she's not wearing a bra. So I didn't get it in the end. Pity, though. Eunice should wear that though like a size 6. *smirks* COS ITS SEMI NODAME. (But that TOTALLY Nodame look at Far East just killed me.)
So my mom dragged me to ALDO to watch her find shoes (she's a huuuuuuge fan of shoes. I'm betting she has like every new design of every brand of shoes. =\) and then I looked at myself in the mirror and realised I looked quite decent what..
But no my mom just looked at me like I was crazy and told me I was in rags, period.
So in tears, I ran to Topshop hoping to find some cheap clothes since, you know, Topshop is like the cheapest boutique in Wisma I think. Yeah unless you count in Nike, but I just CANT wear Nike cos I don't have a sporty figure thank you. I'm just a hippo. So yes. I went and grabbed some dresses of the shelves and tried them on. I'm pretty sure I took only 5 minutes to try then on. Or less. But when I went out, the queue for the fitting rooms (there were like more than 10 rooms?) was like, WHOA. Oops. Anyway yeah I only liked the blue/white stripey one though. Haha. It's not even a dress I guess it's just a er. .. Dress shirt? Haha. Therefore - must wear shorts to cover mah legs. No pictures of the mannequin wearing it though cos if I stepped any further back to get a good shot of it, I'd be on the escalator down.
Yup. It was quite ex so to say. For a piece of cloth. :( But nevermind. Then anyway obviously my mom wouldn't let me wear it then cos if I wore it then I wouldn't have anything else for CNY except the white dress from Frontier. ): So she just. Grabbed some random 29$ shirt off the shelf and threw it at me and said okay wear this. So I was stuck in that grey shirt (I have so many grey clothes now, I just realised. Well including this only 3. But I have 2 other grey shirts for sleeping. One I suspect I left in the washing machine at hostel. Oops. haha. But yeah. I think I quite like the colour.) for the rest of the day but turns out it's quite comfy and it's the type that you can eat a lot in. So, speaking about eating.
We finally made our way to Taka and just when we were RIGHT outside the foodcourt, my mom suddenly went. "Do you want to eat Korean food?" And I was like. "Yes, I want to - er.. eat my mee sua." Man I was so tempted and as usual, I gave in to temptation so up we went to Crystal Jade Korean BBQ. Oh man it rocked. :) And it wasn't too ex either. Yay. So-so lor. After that we were going home but no. How can we go home like that! Haha Jo is evil. I reminded my mom that the dress-shirt I bought should go with tights, so we went into Taka to check cos I thought they sold the tights near the toys dept for like er, 12. But turns out it was like 30 haha so might as well buy from Topshop right, which was 39 sigh. Why is it so ex.. I'm poor (not that it's my money aha.) But before that we just walked in and then we saw this pretty qipao thing. Qipao is the twopiece one right. Anyway yeah it was nice but no more of that colour so too bad. Then I grabbed a random cheongsam from the rack and asked my mom to guess how much it was. She was like er.. 100? Then I said it was 40 and she was very happy cos it was cheap so she disappeared off to pay for it (without trying.. I think. Crazy skinny person.) I took a red one which design looked very much like my pink yukata's and tried it on too. I took another bright red one but you know, my fat ass just couldn't fit in. I guess I didn't check the sizes before taking. HAHA. No serious, I just found out how fucking fat my ass is. As in when I'm standing up you can't really tell but when I try to squeeze it into clothes, I tell you.. ugh.
Yup so my mom was rushing me so that she could pay for my cheongsam as well so I ran out and she just paid for the yukata one. It was like size 5.. Like okay. When I wear her pants its like size 11. And I was like.. oh shit. Well.. I could fit into it despite being quite bloated? So I hope on CNY I can wear it. (Yeah fat hope. Like I won't eat on CNY.)
Then we saw a random pair of tights which were like 19.90$ so YAY victory to Jo. So I thought, yep we have enough let's go home but no! On the way down I decided OKAY I WANT BOOTS. And my mom, surprisingly, didn't say no. I know she didn't want to get me them when we were in Malaysia. But come to think of it, I wouldn't want to get from there too. BUT YOU KNOW. I suspect she just wanted to look at shoes too HAHA. :) So we headed over to the shoes department and I spotted this pair of Everbest boots. Yup and my mom was like "Okay Everbest is quite cheap so it's okay. You sit here and try if the size fits then you come find me." like very quickly and disappeared to find her shoes. Sigh! Shoe-fanatic.
Like okay.. since when was Everbest/Aldo/Ninewest even cheap. I mean maybe they are compared to those random designer shoes but.. Okay. I'm one who wears er.. 2$ slippers? Charles and Keith on rare occasions? Adidas? Nike? Hurhur. So YAY I got my boots (which I might end up not wearing cos my calves are freaking fat. And my EVIL MOM JUST CAME BY TO LAUGH AT MY HUGE FEET AGAIN. :(
She just sat down next to me and asked me why my shoes weren't here yet. And I was like. ".. :( Cos I couldn't fit." The worst part is that I had to pull them off. It's harder to pull it off than to put it on you know. And being the very unglam person I am, I had to roll around on the floor trying to pull it off. Sigh. Jo, Jo. How are you ever going to present yourself to society.
So yep conclusion, I bought my shoes and am happy.
