seem to have my pc working again thanks to Dimebag Paul, thanks dude THANKS VERY much

still not 100% sure what the problem was, possibly a combination of various things we found a bit dodgy,but it works, without my nVidia graphics card however which we discovered has been running without its fan and so might have been causing the issues

nope still buggered ......stayed alvie for a few hours alst night, but woke up it had rebooted again. so logged it in again and lasted a few mins and rebooted again twice.... did notice that for some reason my radiater was on, (msut have moved the dial thingy with my foot while sitting or something) so it was a bit hot around the pc area. So the over-heating theory might well be true. Could it be the board, over heating when the processor is read/writting to the HD in a crazy manner as with the firewall/virus scanner?

i do remember it happening with the new graphics card in there at least once anyway when it booted

its a very odd one, i'm leaning towards the motherboard now, we knocked 11 degrees off the processor core and it wasnt going over 52C after that... well inside tolerance levels

i'll look into getting you that spare I was on about to borrow so you can get on with your work. see you later on.

yeah I'm thinking over heating too, it might be able to survive longer now as we knocked the 11 degree'sof it so its taking longer to cook .....and the 2 reboots after it fails are probalby when its too hot to work, then its cooled down sufficiently by the 3rd one to boot properly... What type of processing causes the most heat?

well its not working propperly :-( but its workable. yeah tommorow cool, pity nits so early for Aly's as Darren and Tanya's band are playing at the Railway tommorow too....thier first gig....
