I'm sure they have a reason for not releasing their films worldwide all at once

Because localizing films, having each country's film board rate them, then manufacturing hundreds, if not thousands, of reels of film is no small feat that can be done overnight. (and before you say 'digital cinema' ...well, um, not every theater has that yet)
