R.I.P car

Aug 21, 2007 15:42

So, as mentioned by attack_monkey, the Leninmobile (his first car which he extremely kindly donated to me to be my first car too) is now no longer, after I stupidly ran it into an Audi A3 in London last Sunday.

So thank you Tim for the freedom you gave me with an ace car, and thank you car for the 18000 miles you did with me.

Yup, fine thanks. Just really gutted that I wrote my car off, especially since I'd just cleaned it out, washed and waxed it and got it fully working..

Do you think I'd be foolish to get the same car again?! I've come across one in the midlands - same colour, year and style, with only 25k mileage and a years' MOT and 2 months tax and for £220. Or should I try find something better but with higher mileage? Or get it so I have wheels and can change it at a later date?!

£220 for a car with only 25k mileage sounds pretty good to me. I guess age will be against it more than wear and tear, and the good old british weather can cause plenty of rust and stuff.

I wouldn't think you'd be foolish if you went for it, especially as it'll get you going again quickly. If you do fancy a change of car/style shortly after that then there's no great loss even if you sell it on for £100-ish.

Hmm, that's what I reckoned too. I guess I've just got doubts because of all the people tellng me I should be looking at non-Skoda things. I have nothing against them at all - they're pretty good for a no frills car, and everything else out there seems to be either really high mileage or way more expensive..

Nope, just one of those moments where you sit there and go 'Oh bollocks'. Before having to deal with pushing it out of the way and ringing the insurance people.

If only If I'd gone straight to work and not taken a detour to go collect somethng.. :/

yeah, everything needs money.. :/

I want to get a better car, but I'm not seeing that being very easy without transport to go shopping with!
Do you still have to get through a month of work though before your first paycheque?!
