Yeah, TV was always the popular kid, and books have been my best friend since, like, forever. We used to ride the bus together, and even when I was working so hard I couldn't see anything else, we'd make coffee dates. we even used to talk late at night when I'd had a hard day. The conversations never got old, you know? And we've kept in touch all these years.

I mean, sometimes I run into TV one-on-one now, and we've both gotten older, and it's ok to chat for a few minutes. But TV never has time for a real talk, and we've gone in such different directions, I hardly know what to say anymore...

I know! I feel so bad! Books have been sitting in the background all this time, patiently waiting for me to come back to them. We spent so much time together when I was young. I'm sorry I went astray books! I got distracted by the flashing lights and the loud noises. I...I didn't think I had time for you any more. But I've missed you books, I really have. I'm so, so sorry.

Y'know, I think TV was more of a young fling for me, back when I didn't know there were bigger fish in the see. Yeah, I miss her every once in a while, like on important events and I need any old thing.
