The same is true of feelings,
perceptions, impulses and consciousness.

It's about time for an update. I don't know why, but the timing feels right I want to. Not that any of you on my friends list have any real (or pretend) reason to care what is happening in my life, it's the thought that counts, right? Lately I've been eating a lot(and I ( Read more... )

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

An old Volkswagen bus, eh? That's original. Haha

A very strange coincidence... about five days ago, maybe a bit more, I was thinking about going to Denny's to ask you if you are a Buddhist.

Well, I had been thinking about it for a long time, but I've finally decided to take action towards learning more about it, all the different types and sects of buddhism, and there are tons. I've decided I'd like to join the soto sect of Zen Buddhism. Drop me an email (cyberus@wowway.com) or talk to me on AIM if you want to know a bit about it.

On a sad note- I was bridge jumping the other day, and I decided to do a front flip. Along with hitting the water face first, the Ganesha pendant you gave me forever ago also decided to break off the necklace and sink into darkness. It saddened me.

Did it really? I'm suprised you still wore that thing.

Well, like previous occurances, your choice of actions made something you care for part ways with you. Maybe there's a reason for it to be at the bottom of Lake Erie or wherever it went.

Holla at the Buddhist-ness, Brandon! :) You should read "A Buddhist Bible" edited by Dwight Goddard. I haven't read the whole thing [yet] (it's longer than the Christian Bible), but it's awesommmme ... it's a collection of Buddhist scripture from all kinds of different sources (Tibetan, Pali, Chinese, Japanese, etc.). It's not all like, super-Zen, but it *is* very enlightening, nevertheless. ;)

I saw that at Borders the other day, and i was debating on buying it. It's thickness did slightly deter me, I won't lie. I ended up getting a book called "Hardcore Zen" by Brad Warner, which turned out to be an awesome read.
