What a fucking moron. Both of them. I don't think I've ever dealt with a salesperson quite that incompetent... although there was the time one saleslady ruined my sister's debt card in her attempt to get it to work (she stripped the thin see through layer of plastic off of it)

The phone can always be re-sold, it's just the sim card inside that ties it to the particular network (which is why so many people are hot to "unlock" their phones these days).

Oh, also, if you're looking for a new phone you might want to go through the intranet- search for "Telus supplier discounts" then go to the mobility page through the results on the discounts page. They seemed to be better deals than what are on the main mobility pages but probably still require the usual contracts.

So I bit the bullet and just bought the damn thing (I hate waiting). I saved $30 on the intranet, which is cool-- I got the LG6190.

Excellent! That phone looks cool (the keypad looks pretty unique). I'm a huge supporter of the Supplier Discounts list- it's great for Apple products, too. (free shipping and generally about 10% off items)
