Well, I mean, they *are* often singing about death...

However, given my guilty musical pleasure are hair bands which epitomized the excess of the '80s (snorting coke of naked backstage groupies all wanting a piece of the band, etc.), folks preaching at me to be an upstanding individual doesn't particularly appeal to me. It's bad enough that I probably *am* an upstanding individual - at least let me maintain the illusion that I'm just playing one on TV.
