I don't know why I thought this, but I thought chicken I bought on Wednesday would still be ok to eat, after having just stored it in the fridge. It may not actually have been safe. I'm not sure, one way or the other. I think I'll keep the gravy I made and throw the other chicken bit away, just in case.

Over here, it'd probably still be OK. Probably. Usually I like to use chicken either the day I buy it or the next day.

However, even pretty rotten meat isn't likely to hurt you if you cook it. Might make you barf from the taste or texture, mind. :)

Also, for a solid piece of meat (not ground), if the outside is just a little funky you can cut it off and the inside will be OK, again as long as you cook it well.
