You get used to working with lead free solder. I found it a total nightmare at first though... not sure how I adapted to using the new stuff, but I just did, somehow *boggle*
Part of the problem seems to be the 'blade' of the iron is not conducting heat properly to the solder - if I touch the solder to the back of the blade it melts almost instantaneously, if I touch the blade itself it takes ages. I suspect there is a layer of oxidization on the blade so I've ordered some flux to clean it with. Also, the XS25 iron I've got takes Antex-50 tips, and they don't seem to do a micro-fine tip in the 50 range. The surface tension of the lead free stuff seems to be much higher too, which again makes me think more flux may help - which I've also read on several 'howtos'.
