Happy that I'm not one of the four. Getting a job this time of year is tricky in that they tend to be on holiday.

I am sorry to hear this. If it is of any help, Google, Yahoo and others are looking out for release engineers and managers out there. Maybe you should stike at your employer pre-emptively and find a job before they outsource your job to India too.
