PAST INCARNATIONS
Not even 150 years removed from the source material, the Ugly Duckling has had only a few reincarnations, and Chris is only the fourth. Because of the autobiographical aspects of the tale, the Ugly Duckling has always ended up sharing several traits with Hans Christian Anderson himself. Although generally shy as children, the ducklings grow up to be flamboyant and outgoing adults, and they're often interested in the arts. So far, the Ugly Duckling has always been male and he has never been raised by his own two parents. He is either an orphan or a bastard child, or both.
Interestingly, Chris is the first Ugly Duckling who has not turned out homosexual. In fact, his very first incarnation was an Oxford choir boy who, despite whatever Robert Ross might have claimed, was Oscar Wilde's first. The second one wasn't terribly remarkable, and the most recent was an L.A.-based fashion designer who met a tragically early end when he went home to the Midwest on a visit and didn't go quite far enough back into the closet. In other words, he got lynched. It's not a pleasant memory. From time to time throughout his teenage years, Chris got flashbacks of his past lives and, not understanding the connection to his tale just yet, confused certain, more pleasant memories for sexual fantasies. This led to an outrageous amount of sexual confusion that lasted through his early twenties. He's figured it out now. Mostly. He likes to joke about it a lot.

The Rainbow Six - Completely an enigma. Chris's clearance isn't high enough for him to get to know this person.
The Ghost Recon - Chris looks up to this person, who gets him out of trouble and explains stuff. (Morgan Stoddard - aesops_horse)
The Splinter Cell - Nothing gets past this person. He or she notices whenever anything is wrong with Chris. (River Kincaid - starsthrewdown)
The Prince of Persia - Chris feels like he made a bad impression on this person and wants to fix it.
The Rayman - A cheery, strange person, but helpful. Chris likes this person a lot. (Max Stark - tookeen)
