Oh, oh, oh, Scott. Wonderful use of his voice and his thoughts, wonderful look at his romantic history, just... wonderful. I love all of his procrastinating hesitation at the beginning, and the Maddie/bandage metaphor is beautiful, and, yeah, Logan does know all of that, or at least most of it, and he does still want him despite it all, and, really, how can you blame him for feeling that way when it's so very obvious how hard Scott tries, all the time, even if he fails more often than not?
Oh, and everything with Jean and the DPS is especially great - I know we've talked about that before, but putting it in Scott's words works really, really well.
You know, I think Scott is really bad at being selfish because he has no concept of how much selfishness is okay. So he beats himself up and then he indulges and then he beats himself up for indulging.
That probably helps explain the attraction of Emma, who has no problem being selfish and self-indulgent (and probably acts it out even more than she actually is), as well as Logan (who isn't so much selfish as generally indifferent to what -- most -- other people think of him, which can sometimes look like the same thing.)
I think it's positive in the sense that Logan and Emma are both totally devoted to their missions (which are generally more narrowly defined than Scott's, who has the whole Leader of his Race thing going at this point), and still find room for their own needs.
I think it's negative in the sense that Scott can't realistically emulate the way that either of them approaches thing -- in a sense it's Scott's stability and broader focus that allows them to be the way they are. So there's potential that he's going to end up resenting them because he can't be them.
