Logan had barely registered what day it was, beyond a date on a calendar. Valentine's Day had never been anything he'd celebrated, even when he'd been in solid relationships. So when he saw the watch on his bedside table, the thought that it might be a gift didn't even cross his mind, and he was instantly suspicious. It didn't smell like a bomb, but then again, sometimes bombs didn't. And even if it wasn't a bomb, it might have meant that the mansion had had a careless intruder. Kitty finds the flowers and gift bag later that day and, for a moment, thinks they might be a misguided goodwill gesture from Peter, or a crush note from a student. But the flask catches her eye and she starts to smile.

The note is sweet, and all Scott, and Kitty grins and taps her nails briefly on the enameled emblem. If she ever had a team that wasn't starting with an "X", it was of course the Cubs. Always the underdog, and never giving up. Scott understood that. He always did. Always fighting for Xavier's dream, even when Xavier would give up on it.

"Good to be a Cubs fan," Kitty whispered. She sat at her desk, beginning to fill out her class notes for the day. The flowers caught the fading sunlight coming in the window, and Kitty smiled.

Emma beams at the gift, and immediately puts the chain around her neck. It's a beautiful necklace, but the note means more than anything. Not because of what it says, though of course, that makes her happy. It's the fact that she can tell how careful he was to write it, to make the words clear.

She will show him, later, how much she loved his gift. She has something for him, too. It's not the kind of thing you leave in an office, though.
