Las Vegas

I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas in late February. Just three nights. The main purpose is to see three Cirque du Soleil shows, so my evenings are pretty booked. Anyone been there recently? Any suggestions for what to do during the daytime? Other than gambling, that is! Gotta avoid the casinos, in the interest of not going broke. I won't have ( Read more... )

We went there about two years ago and took our 15 and 19 year old daughters. The strip is really different during the day. Some things we did that all of us enjoyed. go see the Wax musuem- you can take your picture touching all the wax guys and even dress up for some of them- ( hugh hefner has a lingerie outfit for women to pose on his circular bed) really corny but we all enjoyed the musuem and it takes about 2+ hours to do. There is a cool coca cola store with all kinds of coke paraphenalia and even free coke testing- different flavors - you can go see the MGM lions- need to see that during the day anyway- circus circus had an awesome mini show of two male acrobats - these are some huge beefy guys doing lifts and stunts using each other as props- sounds weird but the muscles on these guys are unbelievable and well worth the look- show is about 20 minutes long ( ... )

No, that's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks! The Coca Cola store may be dangerous; I have an unfortunate addiction to the stuff.

There are some nice phota opps in the store. WE have a lovely pic of both our daughters with play coke bottles sitting in the arms of the white coca cola bear. I'm not a coca cola fan, but my oldest is and I swear she spent an hour in there alone ( ... )

Hi, Beth,
I friended you back. Normally I would like to see Phantom, but I just saw a production of it here a couple of months ago, so I'll probably pass this time. The museums sound interesting and I definitely want to see the tigers and dolphins.

Nothing specific regarding food, just not wildly expensive or too much of a production. More "casual dining", since my wardrobe will consist largely of jeans.
