X3: The Last Stand
I've just come back from seeing X3: The Last Stand. I'm literally on for two minutes before heading to bed so I won't be replying to anything RPG-wise tonight. I'll try to do it tomorrow.
Ok, so I guessed that Cyclops was going to die. The fact he's hardly in the trailer and James was filming Superman at the time kinda made that obvious. I was extremely disappointed about how they killed him off though. It seemed completely pointless and rather disrespectful. Then to kill off Professor Xavier and Jean Grey means the end as far as I'm concerned. No more X-Men films. I don't think they're intending to make any more but they left it open in case they changed their minds. Before I saw this film I wanted them to make more. Now I don't. I didn't even like Jean much in the films but it just wouldn't be right having X-Men without those three. Not right at all :(
I know they're doing a Wolverine spin-off and possible a Magneto spin-off though. So at least there's that. Still, the deaths left me with a rather bitter taste in my mouth. They also killed off most of the bad guys, which was a shame but I suppose they couldn't kill more X-Men than Brotherhood.
It wasn't as good as X2. It basically revolved around action and the character side of it was sadly lacking. However, it was still a good movie and a good 'ending' to the trilogy. It had all the inside jokes for the X-Men comic fans, like myself. Seeing the fastball special was brilliant. Wolverine stood out above everyone else like he usually does. The new faces were great, especially Beast. It also had less of the 'kids' which was a good thing as I sometimes felt the previous two films had too much of Rogue, Iceman and co. The way they explained the whole 'Phoenix' situation was rather pathetic but I suppose they had to do something. So it is worth going to see if you want some action and some laughs but I was really hoping it was going to be better.
I wish I could write more but I'm tired and I seriously need sleep.
