My favorite video this year (of my own):
The Noose. It was the perfect song for Baltar and I thought it came out really well as a character study.
My least favorite:
Feeling a Moment - It was fun vidding a new fandom but I did it way too fast. It could have been a lot better.
Most successful video (judging by comments, ratings and views):
The Noose - got recced a few times. I'm really proud of that.
Video most underappreciated by the universe (again judging by comments, ratings and views):
Probably Fade Out but I wasn't expecting it to be very popular so no real disapointment there.
Most fun video to make:
Feeling a Moment - always fun to vid new fandom.
Hardest video to make:
The Noose - the song was really long and I really wanted the vid to tell a consistent story so there was a lot of planning that went into that vid, which I don't usually do (I'm more of a I'm-making-this-up-as-I-go type of vidder)
The things I've learnt this year...
Modifying images (colors, brightness) in order to enhance the vid without looking artificial. Using more movement. Stepping away from special effects.
Things to work on in 2009
Be more patient. Clip selection. Coherent storytelling.
Vid projects I definitely want to get finished this year:
My Felix Gaeta vid!!!! I'm waiting to have all the Gaeta clips in order to have the best vid possible. I'm still planning to use Colorblind by Counting Crows.
I would also like to do another Sam Tyler (Life on Mars) vid because I'm not entirely satisfied with Feeling a Moment. I can make a Life on Mars vid better than this!
Plus the usual bit from the wish list.
I'd like to do a BSG ensemble, a Baltar-Six, Fight Club, more Life on Mars... Not sure I'll have time though. :(
