Ok I need advice from everybody reading this. I need to decide what to do about a job for next year. Here are my options and the pros and cons:

PJ's Coffee and Tea (i've been working there for approximately 2 years)
Pros: I'm the employee that has been there the longest. As a result I have a good deal of input as to who gets hired and what goes on ( Read more... )

I myself would probably opt for VS because I couldn't handle the food industry...

I don't know.

My suggest is to get a new job. If that doesn't turn out to be a viable option, I'd say the next best thing would be to ask for a raise at PJ's. It seems like at PJ's, you'd have a better opportunity at getting your schedule around your classes.

the problem is I had to beg for my raise in January. I used to be getting $5.25, and most people are still at $5.25. I think the only people that get paid more than me are the fulltimers. And I can get my VS schedule around my classes as long as I tell them my availability. I dunno. :(

i think the new job idea is a good one. or stick with the one you're at, just because it's nice to have the upperhand at your job. ashley (hiddennature on lj) just quit victoria's secret not that long ago and hated it. she got paid minimum wage and they told her in six months she would get a raise (which the set raise at that point is .10 or something) and the job just overall wasn't all it cracked up to be. it's a retail job, customers are still just as disgruntled as customers in the food service industry. yes, the mall closes at 9 (or so) but ashley would still be there till midnight many nights. AND a surprising number of fat, old women want you to come in the dressing room with them and help them try on their bras. GROSS. just a heads up. VS may not be so bad there, but living with a girl who worked there made me never want to have anything to do with that place. :)
