or "we were required by law to advertise and interview, but we backfilled and/or hired the owner's kid, which we wanted to do all along, so blame your equal opportunity laws we circumvented, just try and prove it..."
they're not all cattle calls, but it feels like it sometime...
I'm surrounded by people that I really do not like nor care for in the slightest. I don't think I could cover my disgust for long enough to sell them anything nor to support the product after the sale.
I'm pondering setting up shop as a test knitter/tech editor.
I wish you well. Through Church, I am trying to get several good folks employed again, it is really rough locally right now. I have some children that, likewise, need to be employed, no luck there either. There are jobs, but the competition is fierce. Employers can pay bottom dollar for the person that exactly fits what they are looking for. And the desired skill sets keep changing. I personally feel that striking out on your own is the best option right now. You just need to work really hard and have the finances to get past the startup period. My wife and I started working with Amway almost five years back. When she lost her job last year, it kept us afloat. Barely. It also let us go to GA for our daughter's funeral. Worth the time, for us.

I think if they had someone in mind for it, my friend wouldn't have told me about it.

Are you interested in local sales? Part time? It is what I am doing, because the responses never did get better. Learning much.
