Today, at the end of the Rochester Teen Book Festival and a two-month break from the insanity that is the internet, I have several realizations:

1. The YA book-loving community is amazing.
2. I love writing. I can't stop doing it. I will always doodle and come up with wild story ideas, because that is in my blood. Who I share those stories with is still

I'm so bummed that I couldn't go to TBF this year. I went the last couple of years and last summer when I was looking at the list of authors for this year and saw so many people from LJ were going to be there, I was so excited. But then we ended up moving to CA last month and I had to miss it. :(

You should be proud of what you accomplished. Writing a book is hard. What I've seen of publishing so far (mostly others' experiences), that seems even harder. But you've done both. And for what it's worth, I like your books. :)

Oh, it would have been so nice to finally meet you! My timing is always off!! Thank you so much, re: my books. It is really hard to remember to look back and be proud of what we've done... I think I was too focused on what I HADN'T. The past few weeks, I remembered where I was 5 years ago and looked back at all the steps along the way, and it really helped me to see the many obstacles I had overcome. And even if I never do another thing in publishing, I'm happy.
