I have started a new blog. I don't know how well it will work. I'm going to try and keep it pretty straightforward. Supposedly I'm going to get paid for people reading my blogs. Has anyone been here before? YUWIE

Tell me all about it...the good, the bad, the ugly or the complete awesomeness of it!

Well, I watched the little video on the site and it's obvious that it's an ad-revenue oriented service and if they're going to give users a cut of it based on page views, that means there are going to be ads on every element of the web site. The video makes it clear that the more content you have to be viewed, and the more often it gets viewed, the more you'll get paid. This means users will be encouraged to put as much on there as possible.

I don't see it as being a "natural blogging" site like LiveJournal. It seems it would be more like MySpace on even more advertising and "attention getting tactic" steroids.

While it might make some people some money, I don't see it being a social network site and can see it being overrun by spammer types and attention getters and see the signal-to-noise ratio being extremely poor as a result. People will put a lot of images and videos just to score higher counts instead of just posting things that are relevant to what they're blogging about.

Yeah, I know what you mean on that score. Granted, my eyes can't take the red. I have officially changed my background. I was so proud of myself. It typically takes me months to do anything to any of the sites.

I figure I can give a chance...for a week or so - see how long it takes to get my first check.

Yeah. Let us know what kind of experience you have, and whether you think it's a feasible idea or just a gimmick after you've been on it a while.

Seconded. I wouldn't mind a little extra cash but not if I really have to work at it or end up with nothing much to show for it.
