I'm in a habit of checking CNN.com each night right before I go to bed. But the main headline I saw just now caused my jaw to drop. How horribly sad.. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter everyone knows and loves, has died.. :(http://www.cnn.com/2006/

That is just so so sad. Poor Terry and the kids. The articles on yahoo give a bit more detail on what happened to him. It really was a freak accident because the stingray actually punctured his heart. He died before even getting a chance to go to the hospital.

It's really sad. I loved Steve Irwin! I can't believe this.

This is SO sad! Animal Planet is sure to have a memorial show of some kind at some point. Not only was he(and Terry)fun to watch, but his genuine care for animals of all kinds and dedication to conservation was not to be matched by anyone(except maybe Jack Hannah). I'll miss him.
