Most people have no idea how to see if other people are on their networks, so you're probably fine. Katherine's place has about 4 overlapping networks. One of them is called "FuckOff." (Hopefully our new apartment will have amusingly-named zones as well.)
I was just going to post that question today. We think it's the network of the creepy assistant maintenance guy who (supposedly) lives in the basement.
Mayhaps you should ask him to sponge from time to time, since he is creepy and probably lonely, he may feel a bit of comraderie knowing that someone else is sharing his network at the same time.
Or you could continue to steal until he figures it out. (this is also a good alternative)
Also if you go through all the different panes in your Control Panel, you can set your computer's name/network name/sharing name to NOT "Cyndi's computer" and then if he ever checked he wouldn't know it's you, and the worst he could do would be assign a password to the network.
