What a great weekend. I sent my paper off yesterday morning and then took a long, hot shower to wash the stink of homework off of me. I emerged feeling fresh and like an entirely new person! It could have been the fact that I hadn't showered since *whisper* Wednesday night...what?! GROSS. EWW DISGUSTING. I feel pretty now!
After my bathroom born-again-like experience, I went to Uncle Norman's retirement/birthday party. I got to see all the family that I haven't seen since the tragic event that immediately followed a happy Christmas Eve. It was nice to see everyone laughing and happy, especially Uncle Norm and Aunt Diane, although the fact that Michelle wasn't there to celebrate with them was on their minds. I made plans with Memere to visit more often and with Aunt Jan to go on the same day so we can catch up. And I ate cake. Marble cake. Mmmmm.
Then it was off to Megan's B-day!!! MORE cake! Megan's was chocolate and the frosting was yummdelicious. I saw the pics from her trip, and I was soooo jealous, but not of the sunburns! ;P We practiced the shows (which made me realize I needed to spend less time on the country one and more on the other) and I showed her some clogging steps and she rocked 'em out something wicked...wicked awesome! Their new kitty is SO adorable...*melt*...I miss Simba so much! Meeeow!
When I was home, I got a phone call from a bunch of people who were hanging out in the Port... I was like...come over! I flash-cleaned my room and we hung out for a while outside, but the mosquitos won and we went into the basement. Seth, Becca, and Kerry stayed for a while and we played Pictionary...Seth and I won, ROCK!!! I'd made plans with Becca to stay at her house, but I was really exhausted and I just wanted my own bed, so I postponed yet another night, I'll be there tonight though!
Today I got up at an amazing time, eight-thirty! I felt more like I was free at last, and I had a number of things I wanted to do. I enjoyed crepes a la Dad, and then Dad and I went outside just to throw a frisbee around for a little while and chat about nothing, which was great because all week it's been, "shouldn't you be in your room writing your paper right now?" I got dressed and went outside with the intention of helping Mom with the gardening...I took one look at the weeds and the shrub she was cutting up to throw into the firewood pile and was like...I'll find something else to do, thanks! I ended up giving my car a good cleaning. Now it's sitting proudly in the front yard, free of trash and dirt, and with shiny, polished leather and a bright, sparkling clean, white exterior! AND it smells good because I put an air freshener in it last week...I swear whoever screws it up will find themselves cleaning it for me the rest of their life. Mom and Dad and I had some Bennetts subs for lunch complete with "lime rickays" and "creem sodahs", and sat out in the sun for a bit. I practiced the shows and figured out where a couple of the solos start that I was confused about, and I started working on some of the harmonies in the American music show. I've had dinner, and now I'm just waiting for Brenna so we can start dancin'! SO excited, you have no IDEA unless you are a clogger how much this means to us.
The next few days are going to be packed. Mall tomorrow, hopefully visiting some friends in Cape Elizabeth and getting my guitar re-strung too so I can start learning, and then up to Seth's camp on Lake hubbidaIdon'tknowwhatit'scalled. I'll be back sometime Tuesday, maybe going to the driving range, hopefully clogging w/Brenna and visiting Megan before I head off to 'Gate on Wednesday for reunion.
I LOVE SUMMER!!!
FUNTOWN IN 8 DAYS!!!
