and I'm used to ridiculously cold temperatures. Temperatures that never got above freezing December through February were practically the norm, and we usually had a week or two where it never got above 0 degrees F. Fortunately, it was only a two block walk to school

heehee! I'm from Watertown, NY -- this is my favorite time of year: I get to gear up and then give people lots of [what do you mean you don't know how to deal with this?] looks when they look at ME like I'm totally crazy for going outdoors willfully :)

And yes, there are thinsulate gloves inside of my leather mittens.
