I just commented on your Facebook, but if you are going for Dickens, then Great Expectations is outstanding - I'm reading it now. It's just a ripping yarn, though I find my view of Miss Havisham greatly influenced by The Eyre Affair!

I've read Great Expectations - it was on the reading list my freshman year of high school. I'm pretty sure I've read Pride & Prejudice, but there are definitely other books by Austen that I have not read, so that's an idea.

Sense and Sensibility is the next best one, though Emma is quite good as well.
