A Walk in the Woods is delightful, but listening to Bryson read it is even better.

Ah, Mary Ellen. She was funny in her brief cameo.

But I've never been much for audio books. If I'm reading, I'm concentrating on reading, possibly with background music or rubbing the dog's ears, but nothing I have to think about. If I'm listening to music/radio/whatever, I'm usually doing something else at the same time, a few CD listening parties aside. So combining the two just doesn't work for me. My commute is far too short to make any serious progress in a book, so over all audio books are made of fail for me.

I'm with zoethe--the audio of A Walk in the Woods is GREAT. He's got a great deadpan delivery, and the hint of a British accent makes it just that much funnier.

Also, I do have a copy of Bear Attacks: Their Causes and Avoidances as referenced in the book. It's pretty....informative :-)
