We've had a lot of guests recently, with more to come in the near future.
Wednesday - One of the members of my pledge class, John, lives in Mountain View, CA. His folks live in Canton so he was back in town. He and fellow pledge brother Davey & I hit the Buckeye Beer Engine for dinner and booze.
Thursday Night - My high school friend Ryan & his wife Elisa passed through town on their way from Washington, D.C. to South Dakota. They arrive late in the night, long after I've returned from the Members of Morphine concert; we feed them matzo ball soup and give them a place to crash.
Saturday night - No guests. We make
hummus and have a low key meal before I head out to see
Ran.
Sunday - No guests, but our dinner does include some fabulous grilled green beans with feta, plus kasha & bowties.
xhollydayx and I hit the Greek Festival. I'm underwhelmed, as I was the last time I went. We did have yummy deserts though.
Monday morning - Wayne & Jen and their dogs Conrad & Ellie (who is Tulips BFF) were in town visiting Jen's family. They stop at our place for brunch on their way back to Chicago. We eat waffles, chicken sausage (regular and garlic) and fruit salad while we watch canine combat. Ellie is so excited she pisses on things, necessitating some quick laundry.
Monday night - My aunt Deann comes over for dinner with her nicer dog, Abby. We have grilled salmon with home made pesto,
quinoa with peppers and onions, salad, fruit salad and chocolate covered oreos.
Tuesday night (tonight) -
pussygalore66 is in town. We make stuffed peppers with chickpeas, orzo and pepper filling, plus we use up the martini mix from Supper Club. And we have more chocolate covered oreos.
Wednesday - It's the first night of summer league ultimate. I found out that somebody else drafted me before my usual captain could, which makes me sad, but I'm sure I'll meet my old teammates at the Chesterland Tavern.
Some time this weekend - Ryan & Elisa hit us up on the way back, hopefully with more time to stop and chat. I'm not sure what we'll be making, but I'm sure it will be delicious. This might be our chance to use the pound of Amish bacon that we didn't use Monday morning.
Next Tuesday -
pianodan and
drdingbat slide into town. After dinner, we'll be hitting the Stars concert at the Beachland.
Look, we can be social! If by social you mean overwhelming your guests with an armada of good food.
