Strange Unexpected Consequences

Back in 2006 when the smoking ban passed in Ohio, there were many people who claimed that lots of bars would go out of business because smokers would stop attending them. I haven't seen any evidence one way or another as to whether that has happened in the intervening four years, but there has been one unexpected consequence that nobody mentioned ( Read more... )

The Michigan smoking ban, since it was aimed at employee health and not patrons, does not exclude patios. If food is served on a patio, it must be smoke-free. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I really have no idea what the law is in Ohio. There are certainly plenty of people smoking on uncovered patios.
