So last year I made a
comprehensive list of all the Major League Baseball games, teams and parks I've seen. In that list I suggested that it might be fun to do an east coast road trip that would knock off a bunch of parks in one fell swoop. It sounded like such a good idea that I put it together. The vagaries of the schedule gave me only one real option where I could do the trip without any backtracking, and it lets me go to five games in five days.
Wednesday 6/20 - Drive to Philadelphia.
- Stay with Mike & Meredith.
Thursday 6/21 - Tampa Bay Rays at Washington Nationals @ 7:05pm.
- Mike rides along. Visit Rob, Rick & Anita, Sarah & Chris. Drive to Baltimore after the game.
Friday 6/22 - Washington Nationals at Baltimore Orioles @ 7:05pm.
- Mike rides along. Visit Zuck & Astrid. Assorted cultural offerings during the day. Drive back to Philadelphia after the game, with a stop in Delaware to eat something so I can say I've been there.
Saturday 6/23 - Tampa Bay Rays at Philadelphia Phillies @ 4:05pm.
- Mike, Rob and hopefully a bunch of other people.
Sunday 6/24 - New York Yankees at New York Mets @ 1:10pm.
- Mike and hopefully a bunch of other people.
Monday 6/25 - Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees @ 7:05pm.
- Jazzbo. Drive to Cooperstown after the game.
Tuesday 6/26 - Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
- Drive to Cleveland afterward. Visit Kendra on the way home.
I may also have some riders from Cleveland, we shall see. With any luck this will turn into a a massive multi-day PhiKap reunion.
On the baseball front, I've never actually seen the Orioles, and I haven't been to any of the five parks (I did make it to Old Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium, both now demolished) so this will cover a lot of the bases, so to speak. Plus it will let me move both
Delaware and
Maryland from 'Partial Credit' to 'Full Credit'.
