I'd had a great time in
Barcelona, but all good things come to an end eventually. On Thursday, September 3, I was slated to fly to
Granada late in the afternoon. The hotel was happy to store my bags after I checked out, so I decided to wander through the Old Quarter and snag breakfast from street vendors. While doing that I happened to run into the
Roman Burial Ground Museum, which was found during some construction in the 1950s. The museum has a bunch of old tombs and Roman history and is a steal at 2 Euros and the 20 minutes it took to wander through it.
Transit to the airport was as simple as taking the shuttle that left from
Plaça de Catalunya every fifteen minutes. In the airport I finished
All the Pretty Horses (excellent and recommended!), which is the first of the three books in the Border Trilogy that I bought at
bart_calendar's favorite bookstore in
Montpellier.
I arrived in Granada late in the evening. A bus ran straight into town, and although I got slightly turned around in the old quarter I eventually found my hotel and passed out cold.
I didn't take any photos on this day, but don't worry, I more than made up for it the next day at
The Alhambra.
