It's
been a while.
1. Commit Not Particularly Random Acts of Communicative Kindness.
I've sent about 140 birthday cards so far this year. I've gotten some enthusiastic responses. I've sent hundred of dollars on cards and postage and lots of free time on it, so this is not something I can afford to do every year. On the plus side, I'm not Platinum level at the Hallmark Store. A++ rating.
2. Stop eating junk food at work.
Thus far in 2016, I have not eaten a single thing at work I did not bring with me. I've made a few exceptions for group events, namely three team outings and two work parties. I've turned down free food at a number of other work events, including "cake and ice cream to celebrate somebody leaving" and "free beer today because why not." The closest I've come to breaking this was the time I took some cookies home with me and ate them for dinner. I get my health screening next week, so we'll see how well this worked on the blood sugar. A++ rating.
3. Stop Chewing My Nails.
In late March I stopped using the disgusting nail polish. For the most part, I've held the line. As I look at my hands now, nine of ten fingers have a solid ribbon of white at the end of the nail. I do occasionally chew my nails, but at this point, I'm not just as likely to tear off part of the nail as chew it. I'd call this a solid B+/A-.
4. Super Secret Resolution.
I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot this. No progress. Not sure I want to do it, actually.
5. Cook for People.
The first people I asked never responded. I've never since recovered. Cancelling.
6. Active Decluttering.
I've gone through all my t-shirts. I went through two cabinets and one drawer in my kitchen. I've started going through the stuff in the basement. I'm not at one a month, but it's not a failure either. C-.
7. Maybe: Bike MS: Buckeye Breakaway (formerly Pedal to the Point).
My canoe trip ended up being the same time as this, so I canceled it.
Scorecard:
3 successful thus far.
1 not started.
2 behind.
2 cancelled.
