The letter 'O' was much shorter than
its predecessor (that would be 'N' for those of you alphabetically challenged) but although it tied
'I' for the fewest weeks at 4, it did not break the record for fewest unrecognized bands because 'I' had two weeks where I couldn't make it and 'O' only had one.
'O' has several interesting bands (
Mike Oldfield,
The Orb,
Osibisa but none that were unusually good to my ears. Coincidentally,
Orleans came up the week before I went to
New Orleans, but while they were pretty terrible and unworthy of using Orleans in their name, I did find one cut that wasn't awful so I didn't mark them as unusually terrible. They sure came close.
10/28 - Mike Oldfield, The Only Ones, The Orb
11/04 - The Orioles, Orleans, Osibisa
11//11 - NEW ORLEANS
11/18 - John Otway, The Outlaws, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils
The letter 'P' is a solid 60 pages, so I expect that might well finish out 2018. The third anniversary of this project is in February!
