Yesterday, I summarized some of the comments I received on the house tour from
Joe & Laura & Astrid. Today, here are some more comments from Jackal. Jackal was a pledge in the Fall 1997 semester and graduated with me in Spring 2001. He came to CWRU from Long Island, and returned there after graduation with his wife Steph. Jackal was one of the many, many music education majors in the fraternity, and Steph was doing music stuff at Baldwin-Wallace. They got married in Marietta, Ohio and today they are both music teachers on Long Island.
Jackal on the
DungeonThe Dungeon had a window, which I only remember because I painted it. Even the ceiling was black when I moved in. I think whoever lived there right after me painted it white again.
I loved in the Wine Cellar my entire last year, and it was my favorite room in the house that I had lived in. I was lucky enough to have it as a single, and it was pretty big.
Jackal on the
GreenhouseOne thing I remember about the front room of the Greenhouse was a sign with the Benjamin Franklin quote: "Every man believes in something. I believe I'll have another beer."
On a less interesting note, this common room was actually my bedroom one summer. I think the summer after my sophomore year. It was a very inconvenient room anytime I actually wanted to sleep.
Jackal on the
FOBI lived in the FOB for either one semester or one year. I remember having some CDs stolen from that room one time that the house was broken into. I was at home for Winter break or Spring break or something, and you (NOTE: yes, me) called me to let me know. This was before cell phones, so it was pretty unexpected to get a long distance phone call.
Jackal on the
AbyssThe Abyss was my first room in the house, in the Fall of '98. Despite everything you said about it being absolutely true, it was a single, and I still considered it to be better than any university housing option.
Jackal on the
Third FloorI know I lived in Whiskey's Roost at one point, but I'm not sure when. Either Spring of '98 or summer of' 98 I think. I was the last person to use the water bed. Whoever lived there after me disassembled it, but I can't recall who that was.
Also, my wife and I had our first date in the house and we spent most of it with various brothers hanging out in the Cave (with Mike living there, of course).
