Viva Los Straitjackets!
Tonight was the "Los Straitjackets Summer Twist Party with the World Famous Pontani Sisters and very special guest Kaiser George" at the Beachland Ballroom. My only complaint was that it was too short. For $14 I deserve more than 90 minutes of music, even if those 90 minutes did include:
The crowd was mostly older but they came to dance. It was good fun, although there is a limit to how much surf music I can stand in one year and this covered most of it. Although I would still like to see Dick Dale at some point.
- 4 guys playing surf music while wearing Mexican wrestling masks
- 3 attractive burlesque dancers wearing very little in all the right places
- 1 oh so cool hipster emcee
- A twist contest
