Can't we just say enough's enough when it comes to the news coverage of fires in California? Look, this happens every year, the Santa Anas start raging and fires go a-burnin'. It's really, really hard to feel sorry for people who set up housekeeping in the midst of a perpetual bonfire. Especially when their "pocket change" is more than I'll ever see in my lifetime.

The same could be said of people who live in areas where tornadoes and hurricanes are prevalent. Face it; there isn't a place on the planet that's "safe" nowadays. And I'm not certain what the coverage of the fires was like in other states (we all know the news will only show what they think "sells") but the poor and middle-class were affected as well, including a trailer park set up for the elderly--the numbers lost there ranged between 400-600 and some of those people had nothing else, not even family to turn to, my co-worker's friend included. I'm thinking your "pocket change" exceeds that, no?
