You know I love a good vampire story. IMHO there's nothing better than a good vampire story and nothing worse than a bad one. Take all the wicked out of the vampire and he's just another emo nursing a wound.

When I was younger I was attracted to that bad boy image, hence the large collection of ex-husbands. I eventually realized how badly the attraction translated badly in my relationships, but I still enjoy it in my image of a proper vampire.

Based on your review, O Wise One, I think I'll give the movie a miss.

Hey, now, I never called for a boycott or anything. The movie will hold your attention and might actually be seductive enough to lure you in to liking it before your higher reasoning skills kick in. I still think it's worth one's time.

And as badly as I have been avoiding it, I'm never going to continue being the resident vampire expert in my department if I totally ignore the franchise. It's just getting way too popular and gaining too much momentum. Alas, tomorrow, I am buying the first of the books. I'll let you know if the printed word is superior to the celluloid.
