streetlight_ska is using my old icon for his background. I made it! Not even one I stole from somebody - rock on! Um... if anyone wants it for their icon, I'll upload it. Credit me, though. If we "pissed them off" and they stopped selling us oil, the question isn't "what would we do?" but "What would they do?" We may need their oil, but they need to sell it to us just as badly, and probably more so. Before oil was discovered in the Persian Gulf area, it was a impoverished region characterized by the nomadic nature of it's population. It is oil that brought them prosperity, and it is oil that allows it to continue. The U.S. is the largest economy in the world. The world economy last year was $50bn and the US made up 1/5 of that. It would be foolish of Saudi Arabia to refuse to serve the largest customer the world has, and it would ultimately lead to ruin. Of course, that assumes that one can actually cut a customer out of the world economy. The fact of the matter is that Saudi Arabia would continue to produce oil (for the reasons previously mentioned), and they would at least sell it to other countries. The fact is that world supply is world supply, and world demand is world demand, and the price and flow of oil ( ... )
