Cynical Beast's General Mary Sue Rant

Apr 20, 2010 23:49

I'm going to be honest here, there is nothing I hate more then Mary Sues. They are my ultimate pet peeve. I've hated them since I was 9, Jean Grey of X-Men always has pissed me off and struck me as too perfect and too annoying. I have deemed her a God-sue. An annoying, obnoxious God sue.

When you are creating a character it would be greatly ( Read more... )

OMG I KNOW! Mary Sues are the reason I generally hate all female characters automatically (until they prove themselves to NOT be mary sues lol). I was reading this thinking "Bella... Bella... Bella..." and sure enough you mentioned Twilight!

"keep your wet Mary Sue dreams to yourself" ... this nearly killed me! XD

Sues are the epitome of aggravation. They make me want to quit rping sometimes. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and the assure me their character is not Mary Sue. Well 2 minutes later they are talking about how gorgeous their absurd creature is.

Seriously, I don't want to read any Mary Sue smut that ends with thousands of babies and living happily ever after. So if Stephanie Meyer would just stop bastardizing vampires I would be very grateful.

[/start rant] God there was this one fangirl who was a half blood demon who wanted her character to be paired up with Karasu. First of all he's murderous, Secondly, he kills people he is attracted to, Third, I do not think he is interested in women, and finally, Karasu is not a fluffy bunny. Then she godmoded and wanted insta-romance. Annoying to say the very least.[/end rant]

Gah, the vampire stuff. Stephanie Meyer has officially ruined vampires forever. I go to the book store now and nearly everything is about "vampires." Either that or they're twilight (complete with Mary Sue) only with faries, angels, insert-other-misuse-of-fantasy-characters-here. *sigh*

See... that's why I never rp. I did YEARS ago but between the Mary Sues and people who just generally insisted on having their way (whether it made sense or not) was just too much for me. Too much drama anyway. About Karasu, though,.. totally can't imagine him with a woman either.

I love Karasu... he's so... twisted XD HieixKurama are my all time love... but KarasuxKurama is my twisted guilty pleasure LOL! (random, but yah! :p)

As perverse as it sounds 3 is the magic number. XD Karasu/Kurama/Hiei = drool Either way, Hiei and Kurama was my first yaoi so it is by far my favorite.

I cannot picture Karasu with a girl. I just cannot...I don't think it is possible.

I am currently in a very good vampire rp, that doesn't suck and I am so amazingly thankful that I've yet to find a Mary Sue on a certain roleplaying site. I nearly cried. XD

My main problem with it is when I am roleplaying and someone tells me that they are not a Mary Sue, and then they turn out to be a total Mary Sue. It really gets on my nerves because I feel lied to and in general really annoyed because I just red a long description of hair and other silly things. It automatically turns me off and I wish people who were Mary Sues wouldn't bug me to rp with me.

You are fine to write or post whatever you want, just please if it contains a sue character I'd prefer not to be linked to it through some text. I mean that's happened to me before too and it was like a train wreck. I didn't want to stare but I couldn't look away.

asjasdksdas BELLA. >_< I was sorely disappointed that she survived her fall off of the mountain. From THE FIRST CHAPTER she has all the guys falling in love with her, yet she continues to degrade herself. I'm glad she ended up with Edward, though - they're both boring and Jacob was the only character in the whole damn book with some development/personality. She's what I call a Flour Mary Sue - bland, tasteless, and obnoxious to have lying about.

And God forbid Edward should leave her to take a poo or something. I don't think her poor little fragile heart could take it.

It was the most annoying thing. I read the first chapter, and then put it down and never touched it again.
