I might hold the world's record for procrastination: taking eight years to get a driver's license. But I did it today. [Hurray!] Somewhat anti-climactic. It's a functional, mundane piece of plastic at twenty-four, rather than a great rite of passage or a monumental milestone for a teenager. But, well, better late than never. What good will it do to tell him, anyway? It's a life lesson he needs to learn: eventually, something you love will explode in front of you. Happens to everyone.
