Tryouts! Are! July 22!

I went up to Dundalk last night to get my skate on with Sizzle, Yosemite Slam and oboe_sama. At Sizzle's suggestion I worked on stops and falls, so now my legs are six kinds of sore and my knees are pretty well tenderized. The Fat Boys are made for skater dudes, so the wristguards and elbow pads run big, but I've found that the knee pads run small, or maybe derby legs are shaped weird. I wear a Large in the Fat Boys. I like the level of padding (or I did...I think they are getting compressed, which blows, since I just got them in January), but they're tight at the top and loose at the bottom. I like that you can remove them or put them on without taking off your skates.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I like the easy-on-easy-off adjustability factor too, but how about general slip-slideyness of the Fat Boys? I get super-sweaty at the drop of a hat, such that even my current pull-on-over-your-foot pads start to float down my legs after a while. Do the wrap-around kind do that too? Does wearing a knee brace or tights or thigh-highs keep them in place?

I'm going to try to get to the open skate around 7:30-ish tonight. It's a ghastly $7 to get in, but hey, at least you don't have to pay tolls! I was going to ask you if you needed directions to Supreme, but then I remembered you and your Sidekick probably have it covered!

Sure, you can try them on, I even Febreezed them last night. ;) hahaha...
