People Put Effort Into Making Icons? Shocking!

There was a discussion over at thesovereignty today about elite icon challenge communities. I don't really feel one way or another about them, so I was just skimming through the responses. And then I ran across this little remark:

And stole your work there is not excuse around it all.

However reading your rant maybe me realize something I have always done when it came to Icons I do not really use them the way I use to do in role play

for the longest time how I always got Icons was by going to Photobucket/tiny pic / google and then finding the ones I wanted honestly buy the time I learned photo shop i was done burned out on using them on my layouts. But I realize now that i have learned the web and all these sites that those Icons where actually made by someone else.

I guess the question the point am trying to make is sometimes people are not even aware of the fact there stealing. I never thought anything of it really when I was new but I never befriended someone to just steal from them by any means.
And they are quite time consuming to make which really any edit is.
