DJ Your Own Wedding?

I'm toying with the idea --- and leaning towards doing so --- of not hiring a DJ for the wedding and essentially DJing our wedding

Um, dude. Find a friend who is into DJing, pay them like 100 bucks and call it a day. ;)

So far I'm getting no allies on the DJ your own wedding idea.

I've mentioned the idea to 4 family members who thought I was crazy and Cherie and her family, while they at least pretended to consider the idea, seemed to be against the idea.

When my cousin booked them for her wedding, she also got their photo package deal-thingy and mentioned that they heard about the service from us...got them $200 off of the total cost. I will get back to you on how much it cost us...

My best friend went to a wedding where they didn't have a dj. They made cds and such like you were saying. They played a lot of Beatles from what I heard! Everyone had a good time. There were a lot of older people there so it really worked out for them. I think the biggest thing for you like you said would be the equipment. This groom was in a band so he had the equipment and one of his band mates was in charge of announcements and changing the cds and such!
