Awwww! That is adorable. I love how awkward it is but that Lester just wants to help, even if he doesn't know how to or exactly why he wants to so much.

Lovely. Lester's so out of his emotional comfort zone. It's painful in a good way. And poor Connor (who does suffer beautifully!)
I like the very careful, precarious balance in this relationship, of words said and unsaid, that could tip in any number of directions:

The silence hung between them; a shadow that veiled from Lester any or all of Connor's wants or needs, and even Lester's own intentions.
